Reletino is a testament to the initiation of change that every industry will have throughout the next few years from the new powerful technologies such as ChatGPT.
Every great solution starts with a problem. In Reletino’s case, it was our own problem (as all startups should be 😉—”eat your own dog food”). Jorge (CEO) and Jonas (CTO) are active Reddit users, often browsing through both the business and tech side of Reddit. Late 2022, a friend of our CTO, Jonas, had referred to us a SaaS project, whom of which he found browsing Reddit. This made us think: if there’s one, there’s probably more. So from here, Jorge had spent a substantial amount of time on Reddit looking for non-technical founders that could use our expertise.
After toooo many hours, Jorge had finally decided to look for a tool to help save time with his search so that he could focus on teasing his brain with other side-projects and research. He stumbled across quite a few platforms like Kwatch, GummySearch, but none were specific enough for him to accomplish what he needed: leads brought straight to him, in real-time.
Jorge then made the decision to build a little tool of his own in order to find every opportunity there was. The initial version of Reletino was… initial. It served its purpose, and that’s it—as should any PoC. All it did was filter a number of subreddits and used an AI Agent to filter them based on the definition of a Startino lead, through a prompt. The first round of development spanned a few days which is optimal for a PoC.
This initial version helped Startino find another partner a month after using it. Boom! ROI. This new project led to Startino taking a step off the acquisition train.
Once time opened up for Jorge, he got straight into turning Reletino into a sell-able SaaS. This involved adding some trivial features like user authentication as well as unique features like:
The transition of PoC to MVP is all about taking the feedback from the PoC and prioritizing only the most important and ignoring the rest.
Positioning a SaaS is always interesting, this was no exception. Since Jorge was solving their own problem with Reletino, their technical ideal customer would also be people like Startino: agencies. But that would introduce new competitors to Startino’s Reddit campaigns and shoot them in the foot. Jorge & Jonas decided it was best to target SaaS companies instead, for the main reason that there are tons of SaaS founders lurking and posting on Reddit.
Reletino did what it did best and brought us its own leads! We setup a project that told the AI Agent that we want to find SaaS founders that could benefit from a Reddit sales/marketing tool (in-short). Initially, Jorge had been manually reaching out to these many prospective users. He very soon built a custom GPT to help customize the outreach messages. Soon after he hired a virtual assistant (VA) to do the work for him, but realized that the VA was too costly, he was just spending too many hours switching between tabs and writing the outreach. This prompted Jorge to build a feature that allowed users to generate the comments and DMs right within Reletino, as well as provide feedback to the generation to improve it over time.
We’re now in the phase of iterating on Reletino based on our own usage as well as users that use Reletino. Hopefully, over the next few months we can launch it out of beta and grow our user-base and make it a profitable project. Exciting times ahead!
